In Benia, trade is not a profession—it is a way of thinking.
You are not a guild agent, a noble financier, or a criminal broker. You are an independent merchant, operating on instinct, experience, and an ever-shifting web of deals. You know when to buy, when to sell, and—most importantly—when to walk away.
Your business does not stop when you do. Investments move, caravans travel, contracts mature, and debts come due whether you are present or not. In Benia, success is measured not in ideals, but in liquidity.

Feature: Ongoing Business
Your ventures do not generate profit constantly—only when the right opportunities align.
While you are in a civilized place such as a settlement or city, this feature has a Recharge value.
At the end of each long rest, roll a d6. This feature recharges on a result of 6 − half your proficiency bonus (rounded down) or higher.
When this feature is recharged, you can choose to cash in your ongoing ventures during a long rest, making a Charisma (Persuasion) check to determine your profit.
| Persuasion Check Result | Gold Gained |
|---|---|
| 10 or lower | No profit |
| 11–15 | 1 × your Proficiency Bonus |
| 16–20 | 2 × your Proficiency Bonus |
| 21–25 | 3 × your Proficiency Bonus |
| 26 or higher | 5 × your Proficiency Bonus |
This income represents net profit, after expenses and losses.
If the feature does not recharge, your business continues to operate, but no profits are realized during that period.
The DM may suspend or modify this feature if circumstances make trade impossible.
